Are you looking for an effective way to download music from Youtube Music? And by download I mean directly into your phone or device.
You can only download songs from YouTube music by paying for a monthly or Yearly subscription, and even with that, you still can’t send the song to another phone or device.
In this post, I will walk you through the step-by-step process I use to download music from YouTube Music that can be transferred to any other phone or device.
This process works for the majority of devices, as long as the device can download and save files to its internal storage.
Keep reading below to learn more.
Find the song on the YouTube Music App/Website then copy its link
Before you came here, you must have been trying to download a song from Youtube music.
Open the YouTube app and search for that song then copy the link. You will need it later.
1. Go to the YouTube music app or website(for pc users)
Download the YouTube music app if you don’t already have it on your phone. (Get YT music from playstore).
For PC or non-android devices, you can always access YouTube music from the website: music.youtube.com
2. Search for the song you want to download
Once inside the App/Website, search for the song you want to download by clicking the search icon and typing the name of the song together with the artist’s name.
3. Make sure you select the “songs” filter
To make sure you are getting the audio version and not the video version, you will set a filter for only songs.
4. Copy the original song link
Click share then copy the link of the song you wish to download.
You will need the link for the next step.
Paste the link into the YouTube downloader website to download
Visit the YouTube downloader website at – Yt1s.com
After loading the youtube downloader website, paste the link you copied earlier from YouTube Music.
Generate a download link then press download.
1. Load the website and go to the “Youtube to MP3” section
2. Paste the link and click “Convert MP3”
3. Block notifications
Make sure to block the notification request as it will only bring more ads.
4. Click “Get link” and then “Download”
Clicking any of these links will most times send you to a new advert page, click back to return to the original download page. Do this until it starts downloading.
After it has successfully downloaded, make sure the file ends with “.mp3”. If it ends with “.m4a” read below for the solution.
Did you get M4A instead of MP3?
There are times when you will download m4a format instead of mp3. Follow this link(cloudconvert.com/m4a-to-mp3) to convert it to mp3 format.
Edit song with the Musixmatch App(For Android users)
By now I want to assume you have set up your Musixmatch app and it’s ready to use.
If you haven’t, click this to download from playstore and quickly set up the app.
Once you are done with the setup follow the steps below to configure your mp3 file(the song you downloaded earlier).
1. Find the song inside the Musixmatch app
Launch the app, go to the “Playlist” section, then click on “Recently Added”. The song you just downloaded should be the first on the list.
2. Edit song info
Click more options(three vertically aligned dots) then select “Edit song info”.
5. Allow access to the file
Grant access to Musixmatch to edit the song.
6. Fetch song info
Fetch the song info automatically by clicking “Fetch song info” then save.
Re-edit, this time click on the cover photo to edit, Choose a photo from Musixmatch, Select the one you like then save. And that’s it.
The reason I saved before reediting is to get the original song cover. Make sure you do it that way.
Edit song with Tagmp3.net(for non-Android users)
If you prefer not to download the app or you are a non-Android user, you can use this site as an alternative to Musixmatch to edit the song.
Unlike Musixmatch where you fetch the information automatically, this site requires manual input of the entire information.
Open the website, upload the song, edit the info, upload a cover photo, then download the newly edited song.
1. Open the website and upload the song
Open the website, and upload the song by clicking the “Choose Files” button or dragging the file to the box with your mouse cursor.
2. Download the cover photo from Google
Use this search format: “*song name*Artist* Spotify“. I use this trick to get the original & clear cover photo.
Make sure to be on the “images” section of Google search.
3. Edit the song then download
Upload the cover photo you downloaded.
You might also want to check the song information from YouTube music because you will manually input every piece of info.
Once you are done, click “Done! Generate new file”. It will take you to the final download page.
Click download and that’s it.
Your first try could seem very long, but you will get faster the more you use it.
After following the entire process, you should have a clean-looking song with no advert whatsoever.
So, did it work for you, do you have any other suggestions? Let me know in the comments below.
